Growing up in Minden, Louisiana and being raised on good manners, good food and good music, John Eason embodies southern rock. His latest single, “Be Amazed,” is a powerful blend of rock, country, blues and gospel all wrapped up in a soulful 3:19 meal.
Eason’s journey to becoming a musician is a bit non-traditional. He pursued another passion of his, cooking. After attending culinary school and working in the food industry, Eason created his own BBQ sauce, Renegade BBQ, and opened his own bakery. Hurricane Katrina destroyed the bakery and Eason spent 8 years in the Air Force and was on 5 overseas deployments. He decided it was time to move to Nashville and sold everything he owned and headed to Music City in a pickup truck and hasn’t looked back.
“Be Amazed” is a song sung by someone who’s lived a lot of life complete with plenty of ups and downs. There is a power and a beauty in taking another look with a fresh pair of eyes, which Eason captures brilliantly in his chorus:

“Be Amazed” manages to capture that special it that songwriters are always searching for. The track sounds like one of your favorite songs halfway through your first listen. There are enough rough edges to still be classified as southern/outlaw rock but “Be Amazed” has the heart and soul of a songwriter well versed in country and gospel. While the exact recipe for making a hit song might be a well-guarded secret, John Eason has cooked up something incredibly special here with his unique blend of herbs and spices…and a splash of BBQ sauce.
